ASU Biocollections Annual Student Symposium

A series of collections-based lightning talks highlighting student work and research

The Center for Biological Collections and Discovery hosted the annual Student Symposium last Friday (April 24, 2026), providing a platform for students and volunteers to present their latest research and projects that focus on biodiversity and collections-centered science. Throughout the years, students have dedicated significant effort to developing their research and deepening their understanding of their areas of interest. This year’s series of collections-based lightning talks highlighted their efforts, showcasing a wide range of projects and accomplishments. This symposium was an opportunity for students and volunteers to connect with both peers and mentors, present their work, and engage in meaningful discussion about the broader impacts of their research within the scientific community. The presentations reflected both the depth of inquiry and the creativity that continue to drive the next generation of life science research at Arizona State University.
