ASU Insect Collections Connect with the Community at Butterfly Festival

On April 12th, the ASU Insect Collections team participated in the biannual Butterfly Festival at Butterfly Wonderland, joining over 3,000 guests for a day exploration, education, and fun. The event featured a variety of activities, including hourly butterfly releases and hands-on opportunities for visitors to examine insect specimens up close.

At the ASU Insect Collections exhibit, guests explored a colorful display of Arizona butterflies, moths and other insect specimens. Visitors of all ages learned about the remarkable diversity of insects found throughout the state and gained a deeper appreciation for the important roles these animals play in Arizona’s ecosystems.

The festival provided a wonderful opportunity to connect with the community, showcase the value of natural history collections, and inspire curiosity about the incredible biodiversity that surrounds us.
